The Sonja Kill Memorial Hospital is located in a rural area around 7 kilometers west of Kampot, a small town situated on the coast in the south of Cambodia, 150 km away from Phnom Penh.
The hospital is nestled at the base of Bokor Mountain and is surrounded by scenery. Kampot is slowly emerging as a destination, attracting tourists with its impressive river, stunning nature and charming town. Although Kampot is developing, the population survives primarily from low income activities such as agriculture and fishing. 44.9 percent of the population are under 15 years of age.
Through the intervention of King Norodom Sihanouk the Cambodian government provided the land free of charge to the Sonja Kill Foundation in order to build the hospital.
